deleting orphan services in windows

dont you just hate software when it says “unable to install service” because its already installed. If this happens then fire up a command prompt

type

sc delete <service name>

and try again!

This will forcefully remove the service from the system, leaving the application then able to re-install itself. Obviously there might be Dll’s and other parts still installed, this is only preventing part of the application from working as a service, its not removing the application.
